Michael's is a cosy, candlelit restaurant in the heart of Birkdale Village.
Talented chef-patron Michael Wichmann's aim is to provide a relaxed,
non-pretentious atmosphere where guests can enjoy excellent food.
The kitchen at Michael’s sources the best possible ingredients and allows sound cooking to
take its course, providing a host of seasonal foods for the regularly changing menu.
Michael honed his culinary talents around the world, notably at the the Michelin-starred La Truffe restaurant in Frankfurt, the Savoy Hotel, London and the Intercontinental, London.
After London Michael moved on to the Hong Kong Hotel and the Bali Cliff Resort.
After 6 years in Asia, he returned to London to take over as Executive Chef of both the Royal Horseguards Hotel / One Whitehall Place Banqueting Suites in Whitehall, London.
His most recent position before setting up on his own was as Executive Chef of the
Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel and Towers, via the Marriott, Munich.
Michael’s is that rarity - a neighbourhood restaurant serving high quality food,
with a lovely ambience. It is this that has earned it a loyal following.
